GONG GIRL (6) comes back a few levels for this and can race a touch closer from the better draw. Went back early and held her ground through the line with a plugging seventh over 6 ¾f at Wyong. Will appreciate the firmer surface and assess on the good win at Wyong three starts back. ROYAL CHIC (4) got off the mark at start ten with a gritty victory at Muswellbrook two back. Chipped away late in the heavy conditions with a respectable sixth over 7f at Newcastle. Senior rider hops aboard from a better draw. Shapes as a top-three contender. AXIOM (2) first run for the new yard was a total forgive when he went back from the outside draw to run ninth to Dirtballer over 6f at Moruya. Placed to advantage from the inside gate and no surprise to see him return to winning form. KING OF DRAGONS (1) trained locally and drops sharply in grade after working hard from the outside draw before fading to finish fourteenth over 6f at Rosehill in Highway class. Improver.
